Bringing Young Performers, schools and youth theatre companies together from across the United Kingdom, the United Youth Theatre Festival (UYTF) is a celebration of creativity, performance, and the next generation of theatrical talent. Across two exciting days, participating youth companies and their members will take part specialist masterclasses and workshops, attend and host performances on commercial stages, and enjoy a professional performance in a community of young performers who share their passion for the stage.

A COMMUNITY UNITED BY THEATRE AND THE PERFORMING ARTS

At the heart of UYTF, is a simple belief that theatre brings people together. We are about more than just performing, we are about creating a community where young people from different towns, cities, schools and youth companies come together, share their passion, and form connections that reach far beyond the stage.

We want every participant to feel part of something special. Whether they arrive as an established performer, a member of a local youth theatre or someone discovering their confidence for the first time, everyone has a place within our festival community. Throughout the weekend, young people will have the opportunity to meet new friends, exchange ideas, collaborate creatively and learn from one another. They’ll celebrate each other’s achievements, support fellow performers and discover just how much they have in common.

We also believe in bringing together the wider youth theatre community. Teachers, directors, practitioners and theatre leaders will have opportunities to connect, share experiences and build relationships that can strengthen youth theatre for years to come. Our ambition is to create something that lasts beyond a single weekend: a connected, supportive and inspiring national community of young theatre-makers.
